The Vertex Top End Piston Kit is designed as an OEM replacement for high-performance engine rebuilds. The kit includes a piston, rings, wrist pin, circlips, top-end gaskets, and a wrist pin bearing where applicable. The cast pistons are made from a gravity-cast aluminum alloy with 18% silicone content, providing a lightweight yet strong construction. The forged pistons are crafted from 2618 aluminum, offering superior strength and durability. High-compression forged pistons enhance power and torque across the RPM range. Each piston undergoes a T-5 heat treatment process for increased hardness and longevity. The piston skirts feature a molybdenum disulfide coating, which reduces friction, aids break-in time, and extends piston life. Some forged pistons incorporate T-box forgings and DLC-coated wrist pins for added strength and performance. Vertex also supplies replica KTM 2-stroke pistons directly to KTM. All rings included in the kit are OEM replacements.
