The JE Pistons VW 1.8L 20V Piston Kit is a set of four high-performance forged pistons designed for Volkswagen 1.8T 20V engines (1997-2005). Made from 2618 aluminum, these pistons offer high tensile strength for demanding applications. Engineered for durability and optimized performance, the pistons feature JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which reduces friction and power loss by minimizing skirt width and shortening the wrist pin. Depending on the application, a skirt coating is applied to reduce wear, friction, and operating noise. Some versions may also include an accumulator groove to enhance ring seal by reducing pressure from combustion gases. This kit includes high-quality wrist pins, locks, and JE Pro Seal premium piston rings. The pistons have an inverted dome/dish design, a 3.228-inch bore, a 1.286-inch compression distance, and a 0.787-inch wrist pin diameter. With a 9.25:1 compression ratio, they are ideal for performance builds requiring strength and reliability.
